So yeah, I imagine the powder will give the same benefits, unless the benefits are not related to polyphenols but the actual fat itself.

- JLLJLLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01200324973565346888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7049415900026167371.post-24322065419334889852011-02-09T19:32:15.516+02:002011-02-09T19:32:15.516+02:00Do you know if 100% cocoa powder has the same bene...Do you know if 100% cocoa powder has the same benefits as dark chocolate or is the powder missing some important constituents or absorption enhancing properties? I ask this because cocoa powder is a lot cheaper than dark chocolate for the amount of cocoa per monetary unit it provides.

Olen ostanut lähinnä Van Houtenia ja silloin tällöin Xtran tumma suklaata.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7049415900026167371.post-4167395220829713992011-01-19T19:34:39.341+02:002011-01-19T19:34:39.341+02:00I've been averaging 100gm/day of 85% cocoa cho...I've been averaging 100gm/day of 85% cocoa chocolate for over a year now.
I don't think the calories matter, because it's mainly from cocoa fat and not carbs.
It certainly doesn't affect my body weight.
I would go to 90 or 95%, but I get the 85% at almost half the price of Lindt, so I'll stick with it due to the cost savings.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7049415900026167371.post-57156081382177299562011-01-08T21:16:46.125+02:002011-01-08T21:16:46.125+02:00And here are four steps to maximize the health ben...And here are four steps to maximize the health benefits of dark chocolate:

The Darker the Chocolate, the Better. Dark chocolate has a higher percentage of cocoa solids, containing the health benefits, than milk or white chocolate. Most dark chocolate products have the cocoa percentage labeled.

Eat Moderate Portions. Chocolate is a high-calorie food. Over indulge, and the health benefits of dark chocolate can be quickly outweighed by the problems of weight gain.

Avoid the High Calorie Extras. The health benefits of dark chocolate come from the antioxidants in the cocoa solids. All of the other ingredients, like sugar, and any extras, like nougat, caramel, marshmallow, etc., just add calories.

Do Not Consume With Milk. For some reason, not yet scientifically understood, the health benefits of dark chocolate are basically negated if the dark chocolate is consumed with milk.Deanhttp://www.dark-chocolate-life.com/dark-chocolate-health-benefits.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7049415900026167371.post-85455113754517611752011-01-05T17:56:42.395+02:002011-01-05T17:56:42.395+02:00Great post; for the past few years now, I've b...Great post; for the past few years now, I've been enjoying a small amount of dark chocolate (90%, Lindt brand) after my evening meal. It took a while to work up to the 90%, as I wasn't accustomed to the taste. I started at 70%, then 85%, and now 90%. I've tried the 99% a couple of times, and while it pairs well with red wine, it's fairly bitter.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07000362967107422435noreply@blogger.com
